Governor Perry Appoints New Members to Council

Governor Rick Perry appointed four new members to the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities in October. Ruth L. Mason of Houston was appointed as a parent for a term to expire February 1, 2019. She will replace Susan Vardell whose term expired. Michael Peace of Poteet was appointed as a self-advocate for a term to expire February 1, 2019. He will replace John C. Morris whose term expired. Brandon Pharris of Beaumont was appointed as a self-advocate for a term to expire February 1, 2019. He will replace Cynthia Johnston whose term expired. John W. Thomas of Abilene was appointed as a self-advocate for a term to expire February 1, 2017. He will replace Joe Rivas who resigned from the Council.

Governor Perry also reappointed four Council members. Andrew D. Crim of Fort Worth, Mateo Delgado of El Paso, Stephen H. Gersuk of Plano, and Lora Taylor of Houston were all reappointed for terms to expire February 1, 2019.
