During the interim between each legislative session, the Lieutenant Governor and Speaker of the House issue charges to committees to study key issues, research information, and hold hearings to obtain public input. House and Senate interim committee charges for the 84th Texas Legislature were recently released. The committees’ findings will affect actions taken during the Regular Session of the 85th Texas Legislature, which begins January 10, 2017.

Individuals who wish to provide input on any of the issues the committees will address can submit written comments directly to the appropriate committee.
