    Choosing a career and gaining the training and skills needed for it can be difficult, especially in these days of budget cuts and limited resources. It can be even harder if you have disabilities and you want a job that requires college or a technical education, since students with disabilities often require non-traditional supports that may not be available.

    Each year the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities reviews its goals and objectives and requests public input to see if any changes need to be made in its priorities or activities for the next year. We would like your input by April 10 on this plan and the proposed changes, which will guide our future grant projects and staff activities.

  • Senate Bill 7 Stakeholder Meeting Summary

    The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services held a stakeholder meeting on Wednesday, March 6 on Senate Bill 7 (SB 7). At least 250 people showed up to ask questions and learn more about the proposal to transition the acute and long term services and supports system for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to a managed care model.
